Young adults can become frustrated when they graduate from college, because they hope to land a dream job straight out of college. But we all must pay our dues, work hard, and work with excellence – we need to prove ourselves. Having realistic expectations can help alleviate stress and disappointment. This short video talks about the correlation of INDUSTRY vs. CAREER and HEART vs. HEAD (passion vs. ability).

ARCHITECTURE

This video was filmed at the beautiful Electric Tower in Buffalo, NY. There is a short slideshow following the talk. Some interesting facts about the Liberty Building:

  • BUFFALO - Buffalo is 20 minutes from Niagara Falls and was called the Electric City. Buffalo was one of the first electric cities in the world and had the first electric street lights in the U.S.
  • SELF CLEANING - White self-cleaning glazed terra-cotta never needs to be cleaned; rain = bath!
  • ART DECO (Americanesque Architecture) - The decorative symbols featuring aspects of electricity production are considered precursors to subsequent art deco design
  • SPIRES - Each spire section can be lit to different, millions of colors
  • NEW YEAR’S - The tower is the location of Buffalo’s Ball Drop, the 2nd largest in the U.S.APPLIANCES - This tower was the location of one of the early appliance stores. There is a mini museum with photos of “ancient” vacuum cleaners and fridges
