Cross Cultural Leadership - A Little More
More patience. More effort. More learning. More understanding. Leading across cultures and different cultural norms takes a great deal of effort; the risks are high but so are the rewards. Almost any strong leader can pick up the skills needed to work across different cultural backgrounds. There are about a dozen key tips and tricks that are easy to remember, enjoyable to implement, and can yield powerful results.
Culture Types
This list is only a small sampling of the different types of cultures we may experience. Some of these we might not generally think of as culturally different from our own background; but consider how different the perceptions and worldview in each of these examples:
- Gender differences
- Economic stratifications
- Educational stratas
- Racial differences
- Ethnic stratas
- Geogrpahical norms (U.S. South vs. North for example)
- Religious beliefs
- Political beliefs
- Differences in values, beliefs, attitudes, etc
- Family system dynamics
- And one of the absolute most significant: personality differences

About Leadership Coaching

This coaching does not include assessments (e.g. Myers-Briggs, WorkPlace Big 5 Profile, Thomas-Kilman Conflict, xSAIL Transformation, DiSC, 360’s, etc). We do however have these and many other assessments available for purchase.
